Shrooms

Well,

I finally got a new computer put together, so it’s not horribly painful doing any work on it, and I have WP & Gallery working properly again. So what’s my excuse for still not having caught up on all my photos?

Uhh, let’s go with, ‘I keep taking more!’

There’s been so much rain here this summer that there are mushrooms everywhere! I have never seen so many, or so many different types. Here’s a few!

…and the rest can be viewed here!

It’s been awhile…

…and stuff has gone and broken with the Wordpress to Gallery2 link, which means half my posts need editing and it’s something else for me to waste time on troubleshooting.

I have lots of photos to edit and post, from Australia, New Zealand and Bar Harbor this year as well.

Until then, here’s a picture of what’s been keeping me so busy lately! If only he stayed that still more often. ;)

Trapped in Ice

We’ve had lots of snow lately, followed by periods of warmer weather, so we’ve been getting a lot of ice as well. This is not great for those of us with less than stellar coordination when the ice is under our feet, but it makes for some pretty pictures otherwise, I think.

Pods ‘n Things

I am a lazy procrastinator about downloading pictures I take off the camera and resizing and putting them up online, so I took these about 2 weeks ago. I need a new computer, with more RAM. That would make me be less of a procrastinator, really!

Anyway, here are some weird twiggy pod things that I have in a vase upstairs.

Merry Christmas

c_001.jpg

Merry Christmas everyone! The pretty ornament to the left is hanging on our haphazardly decorated Christmas tree and is a gift from one of my co-workers.

One of our favorite ornaments and one that we found to decorate the tree on our first Christmas together is our Weinerman. He was sitting all by his lonesome on a shelf surrounded by shiny, flawless and soulless ornaments and he looked so cheery even if no one else wanted him, so we took him home with us. Behold!

Cookie Cookie Cookies! (Part 2)

cookies_001.jpg

After much taste testing and deliberation, the boy has declared the gingerbread cookies ‘delicious.’ Even though I followed the cooking times, they were a little soft rather than crunchy but I personally didn’t mind that myself. I must admit that I was being exceedingly lazy and I bought a tube of icing from the store. What I failed to notice was that you also needed to buy special piping nozzles to attach to to the tube, which I didn’t have so instead I stabbed it with a pokey knife and all my cookies look like they were decorated by a 3 year old.

Also, here is a picture of the giant ninja star sugar cookie!

C is for Cookie

My friend Lari’s insisting that I need to post more, so here is the exciting news of the day.

I am baking cookies!

Color in the Cookie Monster!I just got done making brandied cranberry and white chocolate chip cookies which I’ve made before and can assure you are most delicious. The first time I made them I used dark chocolate chips because I didn’t have any white and while yummy, they’re definitely tastier with the white chips. I also got creative this time and added in some crushed up macadamia nuts. Mmmm, cookies.

Next on the list is some gingerbread cookies. I haven’t tried this recipe before so I will have to report back after they’re baked as to whether the recipe is worth trying or not. I haven’t got gingerbread man cookie cutters and I’m feeling wintery hibernating lazy today so my cookies shall be random cookie cutter shapes. There will be no gingerbread man cannibalizing under my roof!

(Also, I would like to note for Stef, that Simply Recipes has a little measurement converter in the sidebar so there’s no guessing when you make some Monster Cookies! )

Miss Josephine Lefevre (and Bishop)

Why yes, I am making many posts today but that’s because it’s snowing and I am avoiding doing anything practical.

That aside, here is a picture I finished last night of a dear friend Stefanie’s character, Josephine. Jo, like Stef is a little ray of sunshine no matter how gloomy your day is otherwise. I hate drawing teeth but I couldn’t possibly imagine Josephine any other way but with a great, big beaming smile.

Merry Christmas, Stef!

Josephine

I also finally finished off another pic of the character Bishop (I was a productive little monkey last night). Not exactly the ray of sunshine that Jo is, he nonetheless never failed to entertain. For the sanity of all and with his penchant for losing his pants, it’s a mugshot only!

Ice Berries

We’ve had a lot of snow lately. Not the most snow ever but winter is definitely here. I managed to get these taken before the snow came along and then the sleet and rain which melted all the ice. The lighting sucked but a few turned out ok.

I took some pictures in summer of the same berries (nightshade), except there were actual berries then.

The beginning of the end

Yes, I’m about 10 years late to the whole blogging thing, talking about myself and showing my stuff off to no one in particular but here I am, and here’s a picture (which is pretty much why I started this thing in the first place):

You can see the rest from this particular little series here. Why yes, they do look like what you think they look like! :p
